As I watched Anna and Nate sign their Ketubah, with Nate’s dad looking up trying to reabsorb the happy tears and the laughter that followed when their friend almost signed in Anna’s spot, I thought about the honor of being present for a tradition that might be new to me, but one that dates back thousands of years. This was among so many things that I loved and appreciated about this wedding. Their Rabbi was unapologetically egalitarian (which was also an obvious value that this couple shares) and had so many beautiful things to say about marriage. The venue, Headlands Center for the Arts, was incredible and the food and wedding cake (from Susie Cakes!) was out-of-this-world-amazing. The day of the wedding was the first time I met Anna and Nate, but it was quickly obvious how much their friends and family are so proud of them, both as a couple and individuals. Please enjoy a few of my favorite images from the day.
