I loved Amelia and Paul’s wedding. If you can imagine me putting my hands over my heart and saying, “I loved their wedding” that would be the correct sentiment. It might be because Adam and I have found new friends in them, but I’m pretty sure it’s mostly because the whole day was an awesome reflection of who they are. To be honest, it has taken me so long to blog this wedding because I’m having the hardest time putting my experience of the day into words. But here’s my best shot.
Amelia got ready in a house overlooking the Pacific Ocean on one of the most gorgeous summer days. We watched surfers and families up pack their cars and head to the beach as Brit Tarr did Amelia’s hair and makeup. Her sister was her maid of honor and only bridesmaid, but she still invited her friends to come hang out for the morning. Can I shout it from the rooftops that I love when couples do this? Her friends and family were able to relax with her rather than the morning being about timelines and getting everyone ready in time.
Their ceremony was held in a gorgeous church in Los Osos. It was like being guided through a literary experience rich with meaning and symbolism. Their friends read from some of their favorite authors and their Aunt, who is a minister, presided over the ceremony. Afterward, guests were greeted with a champagne celebration on the porch.
We did a few sunset portraits at Sweet Springs in Los Osos and headed over to Windows on the Water in Morro Bay. The food-lover in me was in heaven as we had the most amazing appetizers and small plates all night long and danced to DJ Manuel’s amazing mix. If I could re-live their wedding every Saturday, I might be very tired, but I would also be very, very happy. Enjoy a few of my favorite images.
