Even though the drought in California decided to take a pause during Kelly & Dylann’s wedding weekend, the rain (read: floods) did not stop them from having the most beautiful Dana Powers House Wedding. This is one of the best central coast wedding venues for the winter since the barn is big enough to easily accommodate guests for both the wedding and reception, just in case. Kelly and Dylann’s wedding had all the necessary elements for a great celebration: friends and family who are obviously crazy about them both, people who are fully present in the moment and loved dancing, and two people who are so perfect for each other and just ridiculously happy.
The main freeway heading into Nipomo was closed due to flooding so it was a scramble to get everyone there on time. But each time a guest stepped into the barn you could hear an audible gasp and a “wow.” Judi from Embellish Rentals (also the owner of Dana Powers House) and Nikki from Fluid Bloom transformed it into the most beautifully warm and inviting space. The rain even held off for a while after the ceremony for us to get our “sunset” portraits in. For having so much rain, the day was seamless (as far as I could tell at least!). This was my first time shooting here and I can’t wait to do more in the future. During the planning stages of the wedding Dylann was telling me who else she had hired. I was so pumped to get to work with such a stellar team. So here’s your San Luis Obispo dream team of Southern California wedding vendors:
Fluidbloom // Gusto on the Go // Queens Bees // Epic Entertainment // All About Events // Paradise Bar // Just Baked // Dana Powers Barn
Special thanks to Kacie Jones who second shot with me this day (the dress image is hers!).
