I was born in California but my soul may have been born in the Pacific Northwest. It would be a little rough for me to give up all the delicious sunshine. I think the beauty of the PNW is hard to beat, (even though San Luis Obispo weddings pretty unreal). When Kristen Marie Parker announced her and Carly Bish‘s workshop, I jumped at the chance to attend. In the wedding photography world, there is plenty of “photographer superstars.” These two amazing ladies are definitely amongst them. I think it could definitely be easy to get caught up in all of that (hello looking at other photographers work while you’re editing and feeling like crap). Nevertheless, Kristen and Carly are a perfect mixture of humble and confident as well as talent and transparency. The put together this amazing shoot on our second day that was like a shot of inspiration. I found myself texting Adam the back of my camera, and things like, “Can we convert the back room into a studio?” and “Can I see another photo of Hazel?” 😉

I’m grateful for the other women I met and it made me even more excited for the workshop I’ll be leading with Austyn in the fall.
