I knew I would love this wedding. John and Shannon got married on a warm, breezy Saturday at Swallow Creek Ranch. My favorite weddings are when a couple’s community surrounds them to make the day happen in celebration of the commitment they are making to each other. So when I see friends carrying a keg across the lawn or a sister perfectly placing donuts on the donut wall (please let this be the standard at weddings now), it makes me feel like I’m part of a big welcoming party to a brand new thing that is taking place. The ceremony was full of emotion and tears, maybe a few from myself. John wore cufflinks with photos of he and his mom, which one of the many ways in which she was remembered and honored that day. Shannon looked gorgeous in her Moondance Bridal gown as she held flowers arranged for her by her bridesmaid. Since John is a talented filmmaker himself, if was only natural that he had a stellar filmmaker, Aflatis, shooting his wedding. They danced (and crowd surfed) to music played by DJ Johnny Walker, who helped John early in his filmmaking career. I’m honored to have worked amongst so many talented and amazing people and to have witnessed John and Shannon getting married. I’m excited to see where life takes these two very special people.
For Photographers: Shot on Nikon D750 and D610. Primarily with 50mm 1.4, Sigma Art 24mm 1.4, and a few 85mm 1.4 sprinkled in. SB800 speed lights for dance shots. Edited with VSCO Portra 400 for a base and Alien Skin Exposure.
Fun Fact: Adam and I got married at Swallow Creek Ranch 11 years ago. It’s a pretty special place to us.
